UX for Frictionless Solutions
Task
User Experience for a complete frictionless experience shopping app which includes a Self-checkout, a mobile app, and a web store for customers and merchants.
The Challenge
A new and upcoming chain of sustainable and organic goods stores wanted a holistic solution to make their customer’s shopping experience easy and memorable from the moment they entered the store till checkout. They needed a customer-facing mobile app to easily order groceries for delivery and takeaway, order food from their in-house bistro, a web store and a Self-checkout system.
Tackling the experience for the self checkout system was the first priority. Initial calls with the client and the stakeholders helped us understand what thier users looked for to make self checkout an easy and quick to use.
Along with those requirements and the research we did into existing systems, we came up with the initial process flows for the application and conveyed those to the client with interactive prototypes.
Multiple demo sessions, feedback and iterations along the way helped us deliver the best possible solution in a quick timeframe.
The proposed solution is currently deployed at the client’s store. This is the start of an ongoing engagement with the client. With the system being used, we are closely observing user feedback and incorporating those change requests.
We are currently getting ready to enter the phase 2 of the project will involve further refinements to the system and building the experiences for the web store and customer facing applications.
